At PE Whizz we've come across a wealth of strategies for revision from flash cards, to past papers but one that seems to engage students without fail is...Jenga!!!

What does Jenga have to do with revision? Well... it can be a really engaging way of getting your students actively involved in revision. When you purchase/steal from home your Jenga set you have two choices, you either write the questions onto each individual brick, or you number the bricks so that they correspond to a question sheet. We prefer the latter as it allows for different questions to be used without the need for several Jenga sets. Students then go face to face with their peers in the battle to win the most points for answering the questions correctly.

This method of revision has worked really well with boys as it gives them a way of revising without realising they're actually doing it.

A great method of revision that can also be used in different ways within the classroom.

Anyone got any other innovative ways of engaging students in active revision? Share it with us by commenting below.

Yours in sport,

PE Whizz
